The period between the resurrection of Jesus and His ascension to the Father was filled with a number of significant encounters. Those who met the risen Jesus changed as they came to a deeper understanding of who He was and why He had come.
Spiritual amnesia. We all suffer from it. That tendency that afflicts us all as believers to forget the truth of who we are in Christ. Those united to Christ by faith, blessed recipients of the great salvation that is ours in Him.
While we are not restricted to thinking about the Cross once a year, Easter allows us to set time aside, reflect deeply, give thanks, and celebrate what it means to us. Holy Week provides another opportunity to prepare our hearts to remember the events of Calvary, and our Lord who died there.
